ASTROLOGY: BCS National Championship game

 Here we are again. Alabama and Nick Saban on the brink of another National Championship but they have to get past the surprisingly undefeated Notre Dame team of Brian Kelly. College Football is a hard one to call because there are so many teams but now that were down to the final 2 I’m going to put my insights out there.

On top of looking at the teams charts I also look at the charts for the respective coaches and the charts of the specific game in question. I will also sometimes look at the chart of some key players if there are standouts on either team. This is what has been difficult about reading the last couple of BCS National Championship games.

Last year it was Alabama vs. LSU . 2 very evenly matched teams that played a 3 point overtime game in the regular season only to have a rematch in the BCS Title game. When 2 teams are so evenly matched you get down to splitting hairs on things and there are many aspects to look at in a game. So the big problem last year was not only evenly matched teams but both coaches were Scorpio’s [ Nick Saban and Les Myles ] and on top of that when looking at the chart for last years championship game the moon went void of course fairly early in the game . Last years game ended with Alabama winning 21-0 and there only being 1 TD scored in the entire game.

When the Moon is void of course it means the Moon has made it’s major last aspect to another planet before switching signs. This typically plays out as people being a little emotionally flat and not much productive coming from the times when the Moon is void of course. This made last years game very hard to read. Surely this years game will be easier to read since we have at least 1 different team and 1 different coach.

Last year’s Title game had the Moon in Cancer and it went void of course before halftime ….somehow this year we also have the Moon in a water sign [ Scorpio ] and it is void of course nearly the entire day. To top this off Brian Kelly [ N.D.’s coach ] is also a Scorpio just like Nick Saban of Alabama so we still have a lot of similarities to last years game even though 1 of the teams is different.

A little note on coaches before we go any further…I looked at the last 20 national champions coaches and found an interesting correlation. There are a handful of coaches that have won more than 1 championship in that period but by just looking at the Sun sign of the winning teams coach there is a severe predominance to water signs. Of the last 20 National Champions 13 have been coached by Water Signs . 19 of the 20 have been Earth or Water signs. The 3 water signs and Virgo [ that’s only 4 of the 12  zodiac signs ] have won 18 of the last 20 championships. Ohio State’s Jim Tressell [ Sag ] and Auburn’s Gene Chisek [ Capricorn ] are the only 2 exceptions. There are 7 BCS title’s won by Scorpio coaches [ including this years], 5 by Virgo’s 3 by Cancer’s and 3 by Pisces.

Okay back to this year’s game. Being we have 2 great defense’s a void of course Moon I would expect this to be very low scoring game.

For the strictly Astrology people out there who want a reason to watch the game here’s the major transits for this game.

Alabama: team chart has transiting Jupiter trine Bama’s natal Jupiter and the transiting North Node is conjunct their Mars .

Nick Saban: Transiting Uranus conjunct Jupiter, tr. Neptune conjunct North Node, tr. Saturn conjunct Sun, tr. North Node conjunct Moon, tr. North Node conjunct Mercury, Moon conjunct Moon [ or Lunar return if you prefer].

Notre Dame: Team chart has Saturn conjunct Jupiter, Uranus trine Uranus.

Brian Kelly: transiting Saturn conjunct Neptune, tr. North Node and Saturn conjunct Mars, and he also has the transiting Nodes square the Nodes in his Natal chart.

My predictions for this game are Alabama to win a low scoring game [ thanks void of course Moon] , I don’t think they’ll win by the 9.5 they’re favored by though so I’d take Notre Dame and the points if you’re going that way. I would also bet the under, I don’t see there being 44 points scored in this game.

Astrology and NFL Playoffs pt.2

Okay I went 1-1 in yesterday’s games. The Bengals almost pulled off the upset if not for a pass just inches overthrown. Both of today’s games have the Moon in Scorpio [ intensity ]. Here are my predictions for the rest of the playoffs.

AFC Wild-Card Round

	(6) Cincinnati Bengals at (3) Houston Texans Reliant Stadium, Houston, TX

The Texans defeated the Bengals last year and the Bengals finished 1 game better than last season while the Texans finished with 2 more wins than last season. However , the Bengals are much stronger than last season going into the playoffs and have hit their stride the last 2 months while the Texans have cooled off the last month . I’m taking the Bengals here. Sunday, January 6, 2013 - 1 p.m. ET,
	(5) Indianapolis Colts at (4) Baltimore Ravens M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD

Both teams should have plenty of emotional motivation. The Colts get their coach back who is dealing with Leukemia and the Ravens Ray Lewis is retiring after this year. The Moon is in Scorpio for both games today so there should be plenty of intensity. The Ravens have the Pluto [ power] Mercury  [mental processes] conjunct their Jupiter. This should give them the extra focus to get by the Colts in this one.

The Patriots have transiting Pluto conjunct their Saturn … this will be difficult to beat. Pat’s crushed the Texans a month ago here, I don’t look for the Texans to have enough despite the Moon conjuncting their Uranus late in the game…although they may make it an interesting finish.

  Manning vs. Brady ..great rivalries die hard. The really interesting thing here is that both teams have the exact same chart. Both of their first games were against each other on Sept. 9^th 1960. So not much can be gleaned from the teams charts. In the game chart in the 4^th quarter transiting Uranus will be conjunct Manning’s Sun . Look for late game magic from Peyton as he gets the Bronco’s to the Super Bowl.

This is an interesting one with 2 rookie QB’s going against each other. Seattle is under going a Jupiter return in their chart which has sparked them to outrageous point totals the last month of the season. The Skins have the transiting Moon / Saturn conjunction sitting on their natal moon while the ‘Hawks have the moon opposing their natal moon [emotional balance]. I expect the Redskins to be emotionally fired up early but the Seattle defense is just too good. Seahawks also have Saturn squaring their Saturn which has increased their discipline and focus. Look for a hard fought win for the Seahawks.

The Falcons have the North Node conjunct their Neptune and South Node for this game hoping to repel the past Karma of early playoff losses. This is a tough one bu the Seahawks have their Jupiter hitting the Falcons Mars/ Saturn loss point [ midpoint] . I‘m going to slightly favor the Seahawks. Russell Wilson’s Sun will be near the MC for the end of game chart , I look for him to perhaps make a big play late in the game.

Super Bowl XLVII

 On an interesting note last year Saturn [ limitations ] was in Libra the opposite sign of Aries. Probably the 2 biggest names in the NFL that are Aries [ Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson ] both suffered severe, possible career ending injuries last season. Now that Saturn is out of Libra Peyton and Peterson both have Uranus [ liberation ] conjunct their Suns and both have All-Pro seasons.

I will give a more detailed write up of this as it gets closer. The skinny is Manning has his Sun close to MC. late in the game and Bronco’s coach Fox has his Solar return a few days after game . I look for some late game antics form Peyton to claim his second Super Bowl.

Astrology and NFL Playoffs

  I’ve neglected my Sports Astrology blogs a bit this year so I’m going to do a quick preview of the NFL playoffs using Astrology as a predictive tool. I will try to keep the Astrological and math mumbo jumbo to a minimum here [ I know, I always say that ] .

The first 2 Saturday games have the Moon in Libra so expect close games as Libra likes company.

NBA Playoffs and Astrology wrap up

Grretings all. Just as a follow up here the Heat won their second NBA Championship last night and I correctly picked the Heat at the beginning of the playoffs to win it all. Along the way I picked all 4 of the conference finalists and the Championship series finalists as well as picking 13 of the 15 series correctly [ that's about 87% accuracy if you're counting ].

Jupiter in Gemini

  For all of my Gemini friends that have been patiently waiting for Jupiter to enter your sign..your time is here. Jupiter entered Gemini on Monday, June 11^th and will stay there for  about a year.  If you are a Gemini Sun Sign or have prominent placements in Gemini you can expect to receive many blessings  in the next year especially when Gemini is transiting your Sun.  Jupiter rules Higher Learning and Philosophy and long range travel [Mental travel as well ] as well as humor and religion [ as far as a belief system ]. But what do we really expect to “see” from Jupiter in Gemini , or any sign for that matter ?

Well as the base Gemini is about gathering facts and bits of minutia and experiencing different ideas and people and belief systems. Social Butterfly is certainly a Gemini term , the butterfly hops from flower to flower to gather a little sample of what each flower has to offer  and it takes it into it’s own body to nourish itself.

This is kind of what Gemini does on a mental level , it communicates with different people , never staying too long, gathers little bits and pieces of information that it feels [ or thinks ] it can use , takes that information goes onto the next person or place , gathers more information , on and on. This is how our belief systems and perceptions are created , taking little bits and pieces here and there of different religions, philosophies , and experiences and taking those parts and then weaving them into a tapestry.

And that is what the job of Sagittarius is , as well as to balance Gemini , is to take all the little tidbits of information that Gemini gathers and see where they fit in the big picture and where they fit  [ or don’t fit ] into our belief system.

As I said earlier Jupiter stays in a sign for about a year, so you get the benefits of Jupiter hitting your Sun and any other planets once every 12 years and Jupiter stays at a  certain degree for roughly a week so wherever Jupiter hits in your chart you get about 2 months beforehand and a month or so after the direct aspect that you  will gain the most benefits from this transit. Now if you are a Gemini and Jupiter is in Gemini as it is this year you will feel the favorable energy towards you on and off throughout the whole year.

Jupiter also has to do with pop culture and the mass mindset for that particular year. Expect to see more Gemini’s in the news than normal and expect to see things with a Gemini flavor to them.

On the Medical Astrology side you tend to see the parts of the body ruled by each sign the ones most affected during that year. Last year  there seemed to be a rash of sore throats and sinus issues as Jupiter was in Taurus last year as Taurus rules the throat amongst other things. This year expect to see the Gemini ruled parts of the bodies come to the forefront. Expect there to hear people experiencing respiratory problems as well as the Central Nervous System which are the domain of Mercury, Gemini’s ruler.

With all the information flying around things will be moving at a brisk pace this year , be sure to give your body time to catch up to your brain now and then. It is easy to get so involved with our thoughts that our gets neglected with the heavy Gemini influence and thus we can run our nervous system down which leaves our body  open to illness , be sure to stop and take a breath every so often. Also watch for Air quality alerts as Mercury rules the lungs also and stay on top of any breathing problems.

Most last piece of advice would be travel light and be ready to jump on opportunities quickly. I know I’ve mentioned this several times already but things will move quickly , be ready to jump on opportunities and make quick decisions as stressful as things are at times there are still lots of opportunities that will present themselves to us, after a year with Jupiter in Taurus the speed of Gemini  will be a bit much at times but we will be able to accomplish much more quicker with the Gemini energy compared to the slower fixed Taurus energy.

 So my Gemini friends, go out and mingle there is much to learn and take advantage of this energy  and we will talk soon .

June 4th Full Moon ,Eclipse, Neptune RX

 As I’m sure everyone has noticed at this point there is much afoot this week in the heavens. There is much talk about the Venus eclipse of the Sun on Tuesday the 5^th but even though that is a rare occurrence it is just a small fragment of everything that’s going on now. So I will list out everything that’s happening right now with the celestial bodies and then I will try to break it down into small bite size pieces and I will keep the math to a minimum [ promise….kinda ].

First of all there are many things happening and shifting right now. As of today, June 4^th we have the following things happening :

1. There is a Full moon at 7:12 a.m. on Monday June 4^th.

2. There is a Lunar Eclipse at the same time, these both effect 14 degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini.

3. Neptune makes a station and goes retrograde at 3 degrees Pisces at 5:03 p.m.

4. Venus is currently retrograde [this only happens once every 18 months ] in Gemini  .

5. The Asteroid Chiron [which was first discovered when it was in the sign of Pisces ] is conjunct Neptune [ the ruler of Pisces ]

6. Uranus is within a degree of an exact square with Pluto .

7. There is a muteable Grand square between Chiron  in Pisces [ with Neptune conjunct Chiron but outside of the Grand square ] , the South Node of the Moon and the Sun in Gemini  [ with Venus  and mercury also conjunct  the Sun but outside of the Grand Square ] the North Node of the Moon in Sagittarius and Mars in Virgo.

8. Chiron in Pisces is opposite to Mars in Virgo .

9.  On Tuesday Venus eclipses the Sun but this may have more Astronomical than Astrological value …but we shall see.

10. Also currently almost all of the planets and major luminaries are in muteable signs.

Okay when you have this many things happening at once you have to break them down into smaller pieces for them to make any sense . I will try to make this simple without my usual rambling and spouting off of numbers and geometry phrases [ probably ] .

1. There is a Full moon at 7:12 a.m. on Monday June 4^th.

       The Full Moon usually brings things to a head, anything started at the new Moon [ roughly  2 weeks ago ] comes to a head or fruition at the Full Moon . people are more emotional and intense usually at this time. The effects of this will decrease after early this morning.

2. There is a Lunar Eclipse at the same time, these both effect 14 degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini.

     This one ups no. 1 above. Eclipses push things in the direction they’re already headed . What houses or what in your chart is at or near 14 degrees of Sag or Gemini ? This is where the action in your chart will be. If this hits hard in your chart these effects may be felt for awhile afterwards.

3. Neptune makes a station and goes retrograde at 3 degrees Pisces at 5:03 p.m.

     Neptune rules Pisces and this is our imagination, compassion, dream life as well as faith, spirituality and intuition. On the physical reality level it rules Water and the Oceans and is one of the rulers of Nature.  When a planet goes Retrograde it is slowing down and it’s focus is becoming more focused and intense. On the challenging side Neptune rules addiction and victimization and disillusionment. The effects of this will be felt for up to a week on the other side of this station however Neptune will be in Pisces for the next 14 years and its effects will be felt frequently throughout .

4. Venus is currently retrograde [this only happens once every 18 months ] in Gemini  .

 When Venus is retrograde we often encounter things or people from our past . Also we are asked to examine what is important to us and what do we need on an internal level to sustain ourselves. Venus will turn direct on june 26^th.

5. The Asteroid Chiron [which was first discovered when it was in the sign of Pisces ] is conjunct Neptune [ the ruler of Pisces ].

 Chiron is the wounded healer symbolically.  Chiron is how we heal ourselves holistically, how we heal the Earth and how we help others . Being conjunct Neptune and both being in the sign of Pisces this should increase our empathy and our ability to deepen our compassion and help heal or psychic wounds as well as intuitively help others heal theirs. Chiron will be in Pisces for about another 4 years and it will be conjunct Neptune until early 2013.

6. Uranus is within a degree of an exact square with Pluto .

   We are earlish in this cycle in which Uranus and Pluto make 7 exact squares . As we approach each of  these exact squares we will see political struggles and revolution come further to the forefront  as the power structures of our world are redefined . This cycle lasts until 2018 .

7. There is a muteable Grand square between Chiron  in Pisces [ with Neptune conjunct Chiron but outside of the Grand square ] , the South Node of the Moon and the Sun in Gemini  [ with Venus  and mercury also conjunct  the Sun but outside of the Grand Square ] the North Node of the Moon in Sagittarius and Mars in Virgo.

 The short version of this is … The Nodes of the Moon are known as the Karmic Axis. The South Node is past Karma we’ve brought into this life to work on and the North Node is what we’re supposed to be working towards. These 2 are always in opposition , you are moving from the past [ South Node ] to the present [ North Node ] .

The North Node is now in Sagittarius which correlates with Truth and Nature and the big picture.

The South Node is currently in Gemini which gathers little details of information to add to it’s knowledge database to eventually create it’s own belief system.

We talked about the Chiron and Neptune conjunction in Pisces above in number  5.

Mars in Virgo is all about making corrections , seeing what doesn’t work, improving health and keeping the system working better in general.

So to put this into a coherent message  [ if it’s not too late for that ] this configuration is all about  cleansing ourselves physically [ Mars in Virgo  ] and psychically [ Chiron in Pisces ]from past trauma [ South Node and Sun in Gemini ] and pushing ourselves  [ mars ]to form the best reality that we can imagine [ Pisces ] as we become more attuned with Nature [ Pisces and Sag ]and our true selves [ Sag ].

8. Chiron in Pisces is opposite to Mars in Virgo.

 Pisces and Virgo are opposites, Chiron is how we heal ourselves and Mars is how we operate on an instinctual level . Mars is also the leading edge of our desires which urge us to move forward as a species and as individuals. With Chiron and Mars there are great strides to be made but great understanding to  do this while they are in opposition.

 The key to this transit is to be courageous [ Mars ] enough to confront our mental fears  [ Chiron ] so that we may explore our old wounds again so that they may be healed.

 There are a few more weeks left in this transit.

9.  On Tuesday Venus eclipses the Sun but this may have more Astronomical than Astrological value …but we shall see.

This last happened in June of 2004 and before that the last time was in 1882 , the next time after Tuesday will be in 2125.

This will be neat to look at and will reiterate the Venus themes listed under no. 4 . What is really important to us ? what do we need to sustain ourselves?  How can we love ourselves and each other  more?

10. Also currently almost all of the planets and major luminaries are in muteable signs.

  Okay there are 3 modalities in Astrology .  Muteable,  Cardinal and Fixed. The story I like to use is The Cardinal signs [ Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn ]  initiate the change in the world, The Fixed signs [ Taurus, Leo, Scorpio , Aquarius ]build the change in the world and the Muteable signs [ Virgo, Gemini, Sag, Pisces ] feel the results of the changes in the world .

Normally there is somewhat of a balance [ reasonably at least ] between the modalities represented at any time . Right now is not normal . The main Luminaries and Planets I use are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter , Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, the North and South Nodes and Chiron. That’s 13 total so balance would be about 4 each in all 3 of the modalities. Right now 9 of the 13 are in Muteable , 1 in Fixed and 3 Cardinal and Jupiter which is I Earth will be moving into Gemini on June 11^th. Now the Moon and the inner planets change frequently so this lineup will change but for this moment in time we occupy right now …very muteable.

So what does that mean when everything is so muteable ? Well that’s that shaky feeling out there that a lot of people are feeling , like nothing is settled , everything is very fluid. Bad news is that kinda sucks if you are wanting security and stability right now, basic Human emotions, nothing to be ashamed of .  Now if things haven’t been going so well for you and you need to move some things around..well that’s the good news, things are very fluid and easy to move around right now. When there’s a lot of fixed energy it’s hard to get any motion going. Now when there’s a lot of Cardinal energy out there it’s easy to initiate things and to start new projects but harder to finish things.

Now , the other thing that’s happening with this is that we’re getting a flash forward to what we can expect in July where we will be having  a T- square followed by a Grand Square in Muteable planets while the Cardinal Planets  do the reverse. This will be in full force July 17^th-27^th as the Olympics start.

In general this will be a time of great shifting and movement and if we alert to the energies we can make substantial progress in a very short period of time.
